Is it possible to set (as a default) the Melody to be played only in the first and last chorus of ALL Tunes.
And Not to be played in the middle choruses?
I cant seem to find this in preferences and I want to make it a default setting for ALL SONGS.
I dont want to constantly be editing the melodist in every single song!

The easiest way to do what you want would be to press F5 when in Chord Sheet view and use the bar settings dialogue box. "Mute" the Melody at the bar you want it to stop playing and then get it to return "Back to Normal" at the bar you want to hear it. You'll also need to use the "Settings apply to chorus #" box at the very top of Bar Settings.  Regards, Noel

Noel's Muting technique would do it, but that still applies to each and every songfile -- and it may be dependant upon how each songfile was created, as well. For example, there are plenty of songfiles out there for free downloading that originally only have One Chorus to them. Extending the number of Choruses won't copy the Melody from the First Chorus to the Last Chorus after you change the number of Choruses. So, as of right now, we don't have any sort of Global command for doing that. I use the Melody -> Edit command to "Copy Melody to All Choruses" and then also immediately the "Kill Melody in Middle Choruses" command in the same menu list to get Melody at first chorus and last chorus and then hit the Save button. I cant seem to find this in preferences and I want to make it a default setting for ALL SONGS.

At this point in time, this should be a Wishlist item posted on the Wishlist Forum and development might pick up on it and it might get implemented at some future date. If you have a lot of songs and are using them for Jam Sessions or the like, you might want to look into the Conductor feature, which will allow you to load a songfile and then tap keys during playback to Conduct the playback as to First Chorus Melody or Middle Choruses, but that too could be problematic and is dependant upon how each songfile was originally laid out. --Mac

Ok Thanks guys, if I understand correctly there is no way then to have this be a default setting for All tunes..........
All tunes must be edited on an individual basis?

YES.
All tunes must be edited on an individual basis.
But you don't have to view it as a long task that must be done all at once.
I do mine as the need arises. If I want to work with the song, that's the time to perform the two main things I explained above, then be sure to Save that song that way and its ready for next time.
I do like to use SaveAs, to a different folder, though, that way I know that all songs in the different folder are 'ready to go'.
