Could anybody tell me how to rectify this problem : When i make a recording the V U window shows the input is working as it should , but no lights on the output window
so i get a botched recording. There is something wrong with the way i have set things up.

In the plug ins icon, I use the Pg peak limiter in the last (bottom) spot to make sure I'm not too loud. Are you staying out of the red?
Not sure what you mean by "botched"? Is it distorting, or too quiet or what?

No VU indication on Output side of VU meters but good indications on Input side?
*What brand and model soundcard are you using at the time?
*heck the soundcard's Playback mixer control panel and make sure that the Input that you are viewing is also selected and not muted in the Playback mixer of the soundcard.

By botched i mean not as it should be:When i playback the only thing i hear is what has been picked up
by the microphone. I know from before that both VU METERS should be active 'lights moving with the music'
So i must have inadvertently done something wrong.Can't figure out what.

Um, isn't that how it's supposed to work?
When you render (which is cleanest using the Dxi synth), the software mixes the audio like RealDrums Realtracks and your recorded mic track, and any midi tracks and makes a wav file which you can convert to what you want.
I think you have a misconception that the audio will include the other sounds which only happens on playback if you recorded the thing right. So if you finish singing twinkle twinkle little star and you play the wav file you will just hear your voice or instrument the mic picked up.
If you press play or replay with that wav file sitting in the same folder it will include the wav file and you should hear what you will get if you render the song.
