Sometimes when I try to write a lengthy post, and push send, I get a message that says your post is no longer valid, use back button to go back to the forum. When I do, everything I have written is gone. Is there a time limit or something?

You have until someone else posts something. Either compose it in a word or text processor, or type CTL-A/CTL-C as you go. CTL-A selects All text, CTL-C Copies it onto the Windows Clipboard. If you lose it, go back in, type CTL-V to insert it back in. Repeat until done.

R.

Might be; I've seen that when composing a lengthy reply. It is annoying.

As a result, I always save my text (CTRL+C) as I go.

EDIT: Ryszard beat me to it, and he might be right. At least that makes sense why it isn't consistent.

gene, i have started to compose my messages off-line in ms works then copy/paste into the 'quick reply' on these forums. btw, when you see the 'session no longer valid' (sic) message, you can hit the back button, copy your entire message, exit then re-enter the forum and you will have a chance to re-post.

Thanks Ryz, Matt, and Don

I will try that.

Mac;
You are so funny. I have tried that to. Then the phone rings, or the oven timer goes off, so I come back and finish, and it's gone. . .

It surely is one of the most annoying things, but I've found a solution, or I'd have even less hair than I have (which isn't very much).

Before you go back, COPY your entire post, then go back, and reply again.

Then PASTE your words into the reply.

Glenn;

Thanks for that. It is really an easy fix, once you know.

When the phone rings, I pick it up, answer, and keep typing the post.

Try the tips given above, use the ctrl-c and ctrl-v, also may help you to open Wordpad first, type the complete post there, then cut and paste it into the Post window here and off it goes...

I'm using Firefox and don't have a problem here... click the back button, refresh, click the forward button and then click the continue button then the submit button... Off it goes... Out if habit though, I usually click <Ctrl-A><Ctrl-C> first just in case - say, why the Irishman wear braces as well as a belt?

To be sure, to be sure... g,d&r
