That really depends on the MIDI Patch involved, what instrument it is and how the sampling/modelign of the patch was done.

A piano patch, for example, is likely to die out gradually or sustain until the CC64 command is turned off, whichever occurs first.

An organ or strings patch, though, may continue droning on forever until the CC64 command is turned back to zero or off.
