I have a couple songs that require real track chord changes on beat 3 of a 4 beat measure. (example: /G . . ./. . D ./) The problem is that the transition sounds to abrupt. I know the real tracks are sewn together so to speak but is there any way to get a smoother transition with out going into the DAW to manually cut in a smoother transition from an even chord transition.
I have tried doing pushes on the individual measure and have tried repeating the last chord from the previous measure on beat 1 but can't get rid of the abrupt transition. Very unnatural and sounds rushed. I have tried multiple styles and individual real track substitutions but nothing is really sitting well. I can fix it in the DAW but it's very time consuming.
Does anyone have any suggestions.

After you have auditioned all available variations by regenerating, if you don't get what you want, it ain't there. So fix it is DAW is only option.
By the way there is a way to generate every option all at once in RB on multiple tracks so you can easily see (hear) what is avialable.

Moving from G Major to D Major IS a "transition" of sorts, so I'm not getting what it is that you are really trying to say about it.
If you can post a link to a music example of what you mean, perhaps that would clarify the issue.

I guess a better way to describe it Mac is there is no smooth transition. Its like in the middle of the transition (or the chord change, not necessarily a transitional chord between)it gets cut off and the next chord starts, or the natural flow is interrupted to get the next chord in on the beat. I know its the way BIAB puts together the sequences and there probably isn't a style I'm looking at that provides the necessary change.
I can work around it in the DAW I was just curious if there are any specific tricks people use to smooth that out. I suppose I am going to have to try out creating some user tracks. I do tend to write in a unique style. I have had to alter the feel of some songs trying to fit the BIAB styles and the songs I believe came out great and didn't lose anything in transition. Some songs however can't be changed without losing what I feel is the character of the song.
Thanks for the thoughts.

Jeff,
Try repeating G on beat 1 of the second bar and see if that helps.
That is ...
G . . . / G . D ./
What the above does is to force a G bass on beat 1 of bar 2 and then might make the transition smoother sounding.
Regards, Noel

Jeff,
From your description (and I might be wrong, of course) it sounds like your transition might ought to happen on 4, not 3... so try entering the D as ,D (comma D) in the second half of that bar...

Couple of things to try:
On the first beat of the second measure, try making that chord a hold, perhaps a hold of the piano and guitar only, like this: G...db
Or in the second measure, try G,G.. to make the second beat a shot. This might stop the "carry over" that you don't like hearing cut off when your D chord comes in on beat three.
No way to know what these will sound like for particular styles. Can you tell us, what is the style you are using, and what is the tempo? It would also help us to know which instrument(s) are a problem. The guitar, for example, often anticipates a chord without you entering a push.

I don't mean to side track the thread, but i am really curious.... I must have missed this somewhere (I don't use RB that often). I would really appreciate a quick tutorial on how to do this, or please point me in the right direction for info on this, it would save SO much time! Thanks!

A HUGE Thank you jazzmandan, this is outstanding! Can't take any credit for multiriffs, but I do occasionally pass along some good info. Your welcome. I really thought this was a good feature when I first discovered it cira BIAB 2013??. When you simply have to find the best riff.
