Mac and Mario, thanks for the prompt reply. Firstly I checked for admin rights and using the windows user account menu. Then I went into cmd.exe and it shows me as admin (doesn't) show the password but I presume that is to prevent hacking. I went into the Roland site for the driver downloads and tried with the 32 bit and 64 bit downloads to load them. When I ran the setup.exe I continually got the message "the operating system you are using is not supported. Please check the supported operating systems. Setup will be terminated." I then went back to the setup folder and clicked on properties but there is no tab or button for compatiblity mode and no drop down menu.
OK so as I was entering this on my laptop I get a message on my DAW that says "This program may not have installed properly....Location C:\Users\Dennis\AppData\Local\Temp...\setup.exe .So I go to Local Disc C:\Users\Dennis\and I get the common list of contacts, desktop, etc., no AppData\Local\Temp which leads me to believe I do not have full admin rights. Any suggestions? Thanks
Windows 7 pro, 8 gb ram, 1T hd,. Hope you can still help me. Thanks DennisD

OK I found how to view the AppData files etc., but still no luck on getting the Roland sc8820 to load.
Thanks DennisD
