Hey all - real basic user here. When I do not use realtracks I get a real nice audible count in via the metronome. When I assign realtracks, I no longer have an audible count. Any suggestions on how to use this feature with realtracks?
Presuming that your version has these options, try settings the same as this:
BIAB & RB2026 Win.(Audiophile), Windows 10 Pro & Windows 11, Cakewalk Bandlab, Izotope Prod.Bundle, Roland RD-1000, Synthogy Ivory, Session Keys Grand S & Electric R, Kontakt, Focusrite 18i20, KetronSD2, NS40M, Pioneer Active Monitors.
I seem to be having the exact same problem. Mac (veteran user) advised me to perform a factory reset but that made no difference at all. Did you find a solution to the problem?
At this point, it would be great if you could put the songfile somewhere on a file sharing site like Dropbox or the likes and then post a URL to it here such that some of us can download the file, load it into our copy of BB and take a look at what's going on.
That would be a lot faster than trying to solve things one forum post at a time.
The drums countin click: - comes from MIDI if the Drums are MIDI - is part of the RealDrums AUDIO track if it is a RealDrums track.
RealTracks won't affect the above, unless you have added a RealTracks to the Drums track. In the case that youve added REalTracks to the Drums track, there is a MIDI Drums count in (if using Biab 2013 or higher) or silence (if using an older version of BiaB then 2013.
As requested, please find a song file (with a very quiet almost audible Realdrums count-in) at https://www.dropbox.com/s/0n2fcj1ycu8puzl/Backing%20track%20for%20Tex-Mex%20tune%20by%
Many thanks for your help & I hope its a simple matter to find out what is wrong.
The _ALLISF.STY. used in your song uses the "RD: NASHVILLEEVEN8^1-a:Sidestick, HiHat , b:Snare, Ride :Brian Fullen" RealDrums.
The Countin for that particular RealDrum sounds like the drummer did the countin taps by hitting the two sticks together rather than what some other styles might have done, such as the side-tap on the snare, which, of course would have more Volume, but the Stick Tap countin I get here is certainly usable.
I have plenty of songs using RealDrums that are not the Nashville RealDrums, they are Jazz RealDrums, such as the Brushes styles and others, that have the same type of "stick hitting stick" countin in them. It is audible, but it does indeed have a DIFFERENT TIMBRE to it, the two sticks not being able to generate some of the more Midrange heavy taps that a sidestick on snare or tom rim would bring to the thing.
That's not a bug, its just the way the countin was recorded, as per the style of the particular live drummer.
Maybe someone else will download your file and come up with something different, or a way for you to get the louder countin you are desiring with some sort of workaround, so stay tuned.

I think the question I would now have for you is, "What do you use as monitor speakers/amplification?"
Thanks for your replies. I use a 100W stereo hi-fi amp and 2 x 12" speakers with 6" mid-range speakers & tweeters for monitoring so I have plenty of volume to play with. The problem is that, to hear the count-in properly, I have to increase the playback volume so that it is much too loud when the song itself begins on Bar 1. I have devised a workaround but it's a bit fiddly and that is to increase the Realdrum volume on the mixer to maximum (127) and then immediately reduce it to a sensible value on Bar 1 by programming in an immediate volume reduction in the 'Bar settings' dialogue. In Realdrum tracks where the drummer has used a very quiet count-in is it possible in BIAB to use midi drums for the count-in and then switch to Realdrums on Bar 1 of the song itself? If so, how do I do this? Many thanks for your help.
