I've preached over and over and over that the buffer size setting for ASIO can go either direction, depending upon several different issues concerning your machine mobo, chipset, OS, etc. and that one has to experiment with that setting in order to find the "SWEET SPOT" where there are no dropouts while at the same time yielding the lowest possible latency.

In some few cases, setting the ASIO buffer to a HIGHER setting is the cure, but in most cases we want to set that as low as possible without yielding the dreaded audio dropouts. It is a Timing issue.
