I agree Sting has some very good lyrics.
One that sticks out in my mind is Bowie's Rebel Rebel;
The original song said You want more and you want it fast
However when live he often substituted You want more than you're wanted for
The latter fits the song better and rhymes.
Another Sting line -
There were rooms of forgiveness
In the house that we share
But the space has been emptied
Of whatever was there
There were cupboards of patience
There were shelfloads of care
But whoever came calling
Found nobody there
