I've been playing around with loops, trying to learn what i can. I came across a site that some may be familar with, looperman. http://www.looperman.com/loopsI had to register to be able to dl the loops but found some nice guitar loops. I didn't see any downside to the site so I thought I'd post a link if anyone wants to check it out. There are some folks there that sell loops and post some as an advertising tease. The loops that i found arewav or mp3 and 4 bars long. Since I'm just learning about loops, is there a way to tell BB which bar to come in on. If you had a 4 bar loop and the 3rd bar sounded more interesting or if you wanted to vary the start point to give variety from 1,2,3,4 to 3,4,1,2 or 1 in bar 1(c) and 3 in bar 2(f) Just a random thought Wyndham

Wyndham,
AFAIK you'd have to slice it up in a WAV editor, with careful attention to "zero crossing" to avoid transients, which cause clicks on playback.
Does the Looperman site have a forum? You might want to post there and see what a specialist has to say.
HTH,

Thanks Richard, maybe this is a wishlist thought to allow a 4 or 8 bar loop sample to be chopped and reorganized according to what parts of that sample we want to play in what order. We have something like that in RT's on regeneration.
I have sonar x3 so slice & dice is not a prob
I also thought looperman would give some free loops for those here that want to play around with this new feature. Yes there is a forum but it appears few people use it.
There's a lot of new features to dig into, we've just scratched the surface. Wyndham

Sonar uses loops, doesn't it? Check on their forums instead. -R.

Yes Sonar X3d can use loops. It can also create loops.
Wyndham I think what you want to do you can do much easier in a DAW. Sonar works perfectly for this and I think RB will work also, don’t know for sure.
Back in my day the only time we started panic buying was when the bartender shouted "last call"!

Sonar x3 might well do this. I have not had much of a chance or time to dig into the new features. I upgraded from 8.5 and even then never learned some of the deeper parts. . I was thinking also about RB and how that also might work out. I can see the cut and paste to make different interpretations in a 4 bar loop, I was hoping there's a feature to randomize the loop measures as it's being generated. Wyndham

/grin/ I like loops... you can do some neat things with them... they've been around a long time; but nobody came up with a truly innovative way to make recorded snippets loop in an intuitive and useful way until PGMusic introduced REAL TRACKS...

Harv, Then just make a 4 or 8 bar or any length rt from loops to get the variations, is that what your saying? I just thought it would be a good feature in loops. Wyndham

That's not quite true, a company by the name of SmartSound has a product that creates customizable songs out of loops, complete with variations, beginning and endings. It is generally used for creating sound-track music for film making, but can be used anywhere. There is a large library of royalty-free music available. The material comprises of full audio recordings. You just select the style and variations, specify the tempo and the desired length (hh:mm:ss:frames), and the complete song is generated that you can import into your own material. The results are of a very high standard.
BIAB & RB2026 Win.(Audiophile), Windows 10 Pro & Windows 11, Cakewalk Bandlab, Izotope Prod.Bundle, Roland RD-1000, Synthogy Ivory, Session Keys Grand S & Electric R, Kontakt, Focusrite 18i20, KetronSD2, NS40M, Pioneer Active Monitors.
