HI All
I have changed from a PC to a Mac and i have been waiting for the 2014 BIAB version to be released.
As i still have my old PC i was wondering could someone advise me whether waiting for the Mac version was a good idea,or would getting the PC version make more sense.
I want it for making Backing Tracks,so Real Tracks are important, especially the Pedal Steel.
Your suggestions appreciated.
Alan

Hi Alan First thing I would do is to contact Support and see if they have a Mac Release date. Or if you are at home in an afternoon, try your luck with "live" help Cheers ian

HI Ian
Already asked Support and they say they don't have a release date for the next Mac version.
I don't mind waiting i just wanted to know if the same Real Tracks,Real Drums etc are in the Mac version as well as the PC.
As i said i wanted it for writing Backing Tracks,I especially want to try the Pedal Steel.

I'm pretty sure BIAB for Mac has the same trax available, but I know that it is missing some functionality that exists in the Windows version. You might post your question in the BIAB for Mac forum and seek advice from users who have used both--I know there are some there.

You also could run your Windows version of BIAB on your Mac, if you bought Parallels and installed a copy of Windows. Peter Gannon has said he programs and uses BIAB on this platform.
BIAB 2024 Win Audiophile. Software: Studio One 6.5 Pro, Swam horns, Acoustica-7, Notion 6; Win 11 Home. Hardware: Intel i9, 32 Gb; Roland Integra-7, Presonus Studio 192, Presonus Faderport 8, Royer 121, Adam Sub8 & Neumann 120 monitors

Thanks Matt
I was interested in what the reduced functionality in the Mac version was.
If it gives enough to allow me to write backing tracks using pedal steel that will do me.
I don't have a sound card, just an interface so i need real tracks.

If you still have the old PC, I'd advise you to use it for BiaB.
BiaB/Windows has historically worked better than BiaB/Mac and the updates and toys come out sooner on the PC.
Don't misunderstand, it's not that BiaB/Mac is lame, (it's quite good), it's just that BiaB/Windows is even better.
Matt's suggestion to use Parallels is also a good idea if you are committed to doing everything on your Mac.

It will, or at least I should say, historically the Mac version has always included the same Realtracks as the Win version, in entirety. Alan, your stuff sounds so good that I don't think you're missing out on anything that would have an impact there. --Mac

Hi Mac
What a nice thing to say, thank you.
I presume you are saying that the Mac version will do me just fine.
