Once I opened my copy of BB and loaded the Demo Song for that style, then changed the keysig to F# and went to edit the turnarounds by adding chord to the 4th beat, I realized something I should have spotted right away:

"C#b5" cannot be entered in BB, it is not a recognized chord.

However, "C#7b5" can be entered, and would be the better choice, especially given that this is a Bossa style.

- but the guitar plays some strange atonal chord - adding a C for some reason... but when I take off the rest, it plays the chord as written... the 'rest' is important, but not worth a 'bad' chord... what's going on with this? v2012 350.

I'm using BB2014 and no longer have 2013 or 2012 installed to test with, but you shouldn't have a problem here. Consider this: Since all Instruments except Drums are being Rested, you could enter ANY chord there!

So try entering a different chord. I'd start by trying the "C#7b5" entry, and if that didn't do the trick, no harm in just entering "C#7" there, since it won't be heard anyway.

By the way, it works just fine here using C#7b5 entry on the 4th beat of all turnaround hars, just tried it and confirmed that.
