Until the technology of the digital piano levels off, I would not make that kind of investment in one, as they all too soon become last season's sound when the next new design or technology is released. You are essentially going to be paying for a cabinet anyway, most of them, the electronics would fit into a portable instrument, and often does.

On the other hand, investing in another "real" piano is far less likely to lose value over the long haul, is already sounding like the real thing because it IS the real thing and when the power goes off, you can still practice in the dark.

Check your area for local music schools that may sell off one year old pianos off lease on a yearly basis for some dynamite deals on pianos.
