Mixer Insert uses only one instance of the Audio Effect but allows you to dial in the amount of each track sent to that Effect.

Reverb is one example of an Audio Effect that can be used in this fashion, using the INSERT here allows for that one Reverb Effect to be applied to any or all tracks - working exactly like the Reverb does in a modern PA system.

This applies the Effect *to only that one Track* -- For example, effects such as Guitar Amplifier/
Speaker Cabinet Simulator, Distortion, Wah, Echo, Flanging, Compression, etc. that are used more as part of the signal chain for that one instrument on that one track, an Electric Guitar, for example. You wouldn't need nor want to be able to apply those kinds of effects to any of the other tracks at the same time, nor be able to dial in the amount of "Wet" to "Dry" ratio using the Mixer Send Effect Control.
