This too, brings a more modern sounding "brightness" to it.

After all the internal "standard" key changes, the arrangement moves to
Eb for the guitar soloing, a good blues key, then out in Ab.

Choosing not to blow the standards in the "regular" fakebook keys can change a lot for you and your jazz endeavors. The key to this one is to not get too carried away, try moving the standard key only a step or half step in either direction from the original.

A good way to escape the "same old, same old" and not only make things more interesting for your audiences, but for you as well.

In my Trio, if I look at the bassist and raise my eyebrows while finishing a chorus, it means that we are about to go up a half step on the following chorus...
