Hi
I'm transcribing an old piece of sheet music into BB. Its a latin style at 140 and I'm using _GYPSLAT.STY which is just perfect,
But it wont accept Em7sus4 and I dont know enough about construction to know if it can go in another way or has another name.
Help please!

I always thought a sus chord had no third?

Depends on whose "convention" of Fake Chording you might find out there.
Technically, the "sus" chord indeed has no 3rd in it.
But, since this one was written as:
Em7sus4
They are implying the minor, which should include the minor 3r in it.
And, as Matt has already pointed out, they really are very likely then trying to describe the Em11 chord.

Hi Philly and Mac
Its quite an old Jazz guitar piece written by Ray Gallo. The chords are all over the place (not always where the note and chord SHOULD be played) but I guess that is the Publishers problem.
What I found odd too was the they showed a chord as (e.g.) D then the natural sign, and 7. AFAICT its Dmaj7. Was / is that true of music today as well?
