I dug the room sound on yer vox with this one, reminiscent of the kind of studio work that Kebmo pulls off at times and that's certainly not shabby company.
Yes, the VG-8 is still a viable machine here also. As is the old analog Sansamp original.

Pete, I assume the harp tracks are real-tracks - is that right? Or is that you? Nice performance and arrangement one way or the other.
Question: If it's real-tracks - is there a way to suppress the auto-generate solo stuff while you are singing? That would give it some more 'real track' vibe, as if you are doing the vox and the harp in a live setting.

Seems like there is a way to do that in BiaB. I remember running across something like that when I first got the program or maybe it had to do with the soloist function. Anyway, if Pete is running it through Digital Performer, he should be able to do it there, if he has imported the harmonica part into a separate track.
Nice tune, Pete, love the vocals on this, gave me a Memphis/Delta blues feel.

Hey Mac,
I'm recording in my basement which is a fairly long rectangular shape and I'm pretty much at one end, acoustic tile ceiling and commercial carpet floor, plastered over concrete walls on each end. It's turned out to be a good acoustic space .
Kebmo is an occassional sighting here in Portland. He may be living here, either part or full time. The staff over at Portland Music seem to know him fairly well. Kevin Moore has an exceptional singing voice, plays guitar well and has a great stage presence.
Yeah, I still have a Nobel Sound Studio 1, little red box , it needs some repair though, but it was great direct in to My 4 track cassette deck in the late 80's - early 90's. Chorus , reverb and crunch.

Hi Tom,
Yes there is a dialogue at available at each bar in BIAB, and you can put in 1/8 and 1/16 pushes and drop any of the instruments and on the soloist you can highlight the bars when you want a solo to occur. In DP you can easily record the fader moves on the mixer board. I have used all these techniques in various other songs I've done, but on this one I wanted the harp to drive the music and to be as loud as it could and still be able to sing over it. I think the BIAB crew has done a good job of recording the Real Tracks and the program fits it all together pretty well. I have one sax part that has some kind of glitch on it and there is an occasional click at the end of a drum track as on this one which I faded out and cut off. I don't mind minor imperfections as they add a human element that makes it all sound -well Real. Thanks for you kind comment .
