Hi Marty,

The DX effects (and VST) are for Audio Tracks.

They work on some of the DX synths because those software synths actually output on the wav bus of your PC.

But since the sound generation for the SD2 happens outside of the PC's CPU, sending the Audio back to the PC on a Line Input to the soundcard, we must first Record the SD2's output for a track to an Audio track, thus converting from a MIDI data track to an Audio Wav track of the SD2's performance.

Once converted to Audio, you can apply any of the Audio Effects to the track.

Don't forget to MUTE or otherwise archive the original MIDI track so that it is not playing back thru the SD2 at the same time.
