Hello,
I hooked up a PreSonus mic/instrument/midi USB interface to record using BIAB. I have updated the drivers, but I cannot get any sound- is there a checklist of settings somewhere so I know what I am doing wrong?
I can NOW get sound to come thru the Audiobox USB from my computer, but NOT BIAB. If I shoose GS wavetable I get sound thru my speakers, if I choose my USB device I get no sound from either my speakers or the USB interface.

Go to Control Panel and make sure the USB card is selected as your sound playback device.

Yes, the Audiobox USB IS selected as the sound playback device- still no sound when playing back on BIAB.

When I turned on Power Tracks, a message popped up saying that Audiobox has a MAC based ASIO buffer, and crashed the system. I have a 2 video projects in need of soundtracks by next Friday- guess I'll have to use a 4-track!

"GS Wavetable" is a software MIDI synthesizer. It will only make sounds for MIDI files. Has nothing to do with other audio such as wav tracks, mp3's etc.
If you are selecting the Audiobox device inside BIAB's MIDI Output window instead of the GS Wavetable, it is likely because the device has a MIDI connection on it to go to a hardware MIDI synth or keyboard. Without one of those, you won't hear any MIDI sounds. Most Sound Devices made today do not contain an internal MIDI synth.
Best to check the "Use DXi" button down below the MIDI output window in BIAB and then use the VSC DXi synth that's included with BIAB purchases.
As for Recording the audio to that device, you must hit the Audio Settings button in the MIDI window of BIAB and then choose the device for Audio Input or Output and whether or not to use MME or ASIO sound drivers.

AhHa! I DO have midi on the device, BUT did NOT have my keyboard hooked up or turned on!
I hope that solves the problem, tho I wonder about the "Can't create ASIO buffer" that pops up when I bring up Power Tracks. Guess I'll keep working on this!
