If they ask to remote into your computer, don't hesitate. If they find the files are fine and it is system related, I would trust them on the machine.

I tried, but I'm running out of ideas on this.
Times like this I really miss Mac (an old member who was very knowledgeable but hasn't been around much lately). He was strong on these kind of weird problems.

I do not work here, but the benefits are still awesome

Rich,

When you tried the 'no effects' approach, did you remove the effect completely from the bus?

Also, if this problem was happening for me, I'd try the following (just to make sure that the issue extends beyond the file I'm presently using) ...

1. Start a new RB worksheet by exiting RB and re-opening it. This will help clear anything that might have become lodged in the computer's memory (hopefully).

2. Open Stylepicker by right-clicking on the style name window.

3. When Stylepicker opens, select any style with a single right-click. After doing so, click on the "Load Song Demo" button.

4. In Realband 2015, once I click on the "Load Song Demo" button, RB automatically exits from Stylepicker, generates the song demo and then begins playing the song.

If this doesn't happen, click on "OK" to exit Stylepicker and then generate the song. Depending how many RTs are in the song, it could take a minute or two to fully generate. Once the generation is complete, play the song.

Do not add any effects to the song.

5. When the demo song has been generated, merge the audio tracks into a stereo wav file. It's important to use the wav format because that is the base format from which mp3 and wma files are created.

6. Test the newly created wav file in Windows Media Player and see if it sounds stereo.

7. In additon, once the wav file has been created, create a new worksheet in RB (using "File | New") and then import/open the newly created wav file into RB. Check to see if it is stereo (or not) in RB as well.

Undertaking the above process will give more insight into the problem and help isolate what might be causing this issue.

Regards,
Noel

RHARV , I appreciate all the time you spent looking into this. I will let you know what the PG techs have to say about it.

Noel, I just went through and followed your suggestion and the file came back mono.

Hi Rich,

Interesting. I've being playing around with RB on and off for most of the day but I can't get it to replicate your results.

Out of curiosity ...

1. How long is the song (minutes, seconds)?

2. What size in megabytes is your output wav file?

Regards,
Noel

The file is 25,673kb
4 minutes and 58 seconds long.
As of today I still haven't heard back from PG music tech support.

Out of curiosity. Which steps do you take to create a stereo wave file. I am using the merge with DXI/VSTI plugins because I want to use the reverb and eq I selected on the exported file.

Rich,

Have a look at the following link. It may be useful. Ian Fraser from a couple of years ago, had a similar problem to yours. RB has changed since that point in time but his issue seems to be what you are experiencing.

http://www.pgmusic.com/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=355565&site_id=1#import

About halfway down the page, there's a post from me that seemed to help fix things. Maybe this will work for you, too.

By way of background, Ian Fraser was one of our community's greats. He no longer walks on earth with us but it's terrific to see that he can still help out in the forums. Thanks, Ian smile

Regards,
Noel

Problem solved. Noel, I went to the tracks drop down list and found the merge option as you suggested and discovered that the "merge audio to mono" function was selected. I had to uncheck it and merge the files before it would accept the change. Once I did that I was able to export to a stereo wave file. Thanks for your help. I suppose I will contact PG support and let them know although they never got back to me.
Regards,
Rich

Excellent.

It would definitely pay to let support@pgmusic.com know because one of their staff they may well be trying to work out how to solve the problem.

All the best,
Noel
