For some reason all of a sudden it seem like I not getting a stereo mix. I got things panned for a stereo setting but I'm getting a mono mix. I haven't changed any thing on my set-up or my sound card (M-Audio 1010). I have even tried the mono botton at the bottom of the mixer page but nothing changes. Has this ever happen to anyone else? Help! Thanks.

I believe there IS a setting in 1010 for mono, have you cjecked that one?
I don't know how it would have gotten changed on its own, unless some other software did it.

Have you changed any of the physical cables or adapters?

Yes, I checked that 1st but it was set properly. Is there a way to go in and reload without losing any stored VST's to return to original install form?

He covered that one -
" I have even tried the mono botton at the bottom of the mixer page "

isn't there a setting somewhere for using FX as mono/stereo?
Maybe this is cause, especially if VSTi's are used..

Not in front of DAW now.

I think there is also a new checkbox for making the generated tracks stereo, in the preferences area, under song generation or such..

The Generate Checkbox is in RB. Have you designated the Audio Track as Stereo before starting the recording otherwise you will get a Mono track by default?

Hi Bob,

Forget which Forum you are in - what you too??

I have the Audio Settings to record Left only, but I have found that if you set the track to the type you want in the Tracks Windows (Classic by clicking on the Icon) or (Main by right click and select Track Type) you can obtain Stereo Tracks. Because of my Audio setting, I will get Mono by default. The Left/Right setting gives you two tracks. Certainly, a quick test indicates that the Stereo track does show Pan differences. I hope this is of some help.

I am not using RB I'm using PTPA12. I know the function are about the same. I'm using a combonation of mono tracts (panned left or right) and stereo track for stereo VST's. It just don't seem to pan the sound around in a stereo pattern. The VU meter shows to be less or more on either the left or right depending on the panning. I was hoping you be time recording folk would have some sugestion. Thanks.

The VU's show the sound changing from left to right, but you don't hear it?

Do you have any FX being used, like reverb, that may be causing the sound to play on both sides even when panned?

Check cables and adapters, or again the soundcard.
