Bonjour,
J'ai un jour acheté BIAB avec leur disque USB de 150 Go. A l'époque, cela semblait beaucoup, mais, la loi de Moore aidant, c'est maintenant très peu.
J'ai acheté la MAJ 2015 et il ne me reste que 11 Go. Je doute fort que cela suffise. Etant utilisateur de BIAB depuis très longtemps (version Atari), j'y ai mis tous les softs de PGMusic. C'est bien pratique. Mais cette fois, c'est plutôt la moi de Murphy qui s'applique. Il me faut faire de la place (ou acheter un autre disque).
Lorsque je lance BIAB, il me dit que j'ai de nombreux fichiers obsolètes et qu'il peut me faire beaucoup de place. En tant qu'ex-chercheur en informatique, j'ai l'habitude de dire "ben voyons !". Je ne sais pas si c'est fiable, ce qu'il va supprimer, s'il fait une sauvegarde et si cela va suffire.
Il va pourtant falloir prendre une décision.
Quelqu'un(e) peut-il (elle) me conseiller efficacement ?

Bonjour, La fonction dans BIAB, Menu/Opt./Préférences/Realtracks/Effacer fichiers +/- inutilisés/ permet de gagner un paquet de Go (de mémoire entre 20 et 30%). Je l'ai fait après la maj d'une ancienne version sans aucun souci

Bonjour,
Merci. C'est aussi de cette fonction qu'il doit s'agir. Le seul truc qui me gêne, c'est "+/- inutilisés". Ce n'est pas parce que je n'ai jamais utilisé une realtrack ou un style (souvent, faute de savoir que c'est là, il y en a tellement) que je ne l'utiliserai jamais. Après, si ces realtracks ont été remplacées (mais pas effacées) par des plus récentes, cela me va.
Bon, je sais déjà que ça fonctionne. Reste à voir ce que ça efface réellement. Il ne t'a pas fait de sauvegarde ?

Salut, "inutilisés" veut simplement dire "devenus inutiles" pour les versions récentes. Ils ont simplement optimisé et rationnalisé les fichiers inclus dans les anciens Realtracks. Cette optimisation ne concerne pas les installations récentes de BIAB. Concernant cette opération, BIAB ne fait pas de sauvegarde et il n'y a pas de retour en arrière possible ... Si tu tiens à la sécurité maximux, tu peux sauvegarder toi-même le dossier Realtracks quelque-part, mais ça prend aussi de la place et du temps ! L'opération est également assez longue.  Juste une réserve pour les vieux PC (genre XP ... + 6/7 ans) .. : l'opération n'est pas forcément conseillée car la lecture des nouveaux fichiers optimisés prends un peu plus de ressources PC.

Bonjour,
Mon PC est très récent : tour de gamer avec Win 8.1 64 bits. J'ai plein de place ailleurs, je vais donc sauvegarder avant.
Je vais aussi regarder les disques USB. Il est vrai que ce n'est pas cher, mais je commence à être lassé de changer du matos : le PC (depuis, la carte son Edirol FA-66 n'a plus de midi), les japonais de chez Roland n'y comprennent rien, le clavier (15 ans, OK), à remplacer par un NS2 ou NS3 ou Kronos, le choix est délicat (si tu as un avis sur la question, je suis preneur. Et pendant ce temps, je ne fais pas de musique. L'informatique, c'était mon boulot pendant 35 ans. J'aimerais changer un peu si possible.
Ta réponse m'aide bien, c'est un peu ce que j'avais en tête. Comme j'ai toutes les versions accumulées, je dois pouvoir gagner suffisamment de place pour ce coup-ci. En fin de compte, c'est une traduction imprécise. Ils ne sont pas du bon côté du Canada !
