That underlying MIDI drum track is not the same as the RealDrums track. In fact, it can be completely different in feel and playback. By removing the RealDrum, all you have done is reverted to the underlying MIDI riffs drum that was present in the original MIDI-only style.

Bob wrote about replacing a RD track with a MIDI track and mentioned: "I would like to use Addictive Drums in Sonar on a song" so I just presumed (maybe incorrectly) he was going to provide his own MIDI drums via Sonar.

This is true if you stay within BiaB or RT: I don't think they have an audio to MIDI converter. However outside of either there are ways.
The best I have found is Melodyne Editer although it can be quite expensive but if one has Sonar X3 the upgrade is cheaper. There are other convters and some are free, google/bing wav to MIDI converters. I have only tried a couple of the free ones a few years ago with some success, i.e. lots of MIDI editing after the conversion however things may have changed completely by now.
