Novice question - I want to put my MIDI songs on an IPOD. I have BIAB 2005, MS XP Pro with a 2004 IBM T52. There is no MIDI Icon in the control panel.
What steps to I need to do to make this happen?

Google "ipod midi player". There seem to be a bunch out there.

Why not render it to something audio native to the ipod?

I tried rendering but it had no sound.
I have No MIDI/sound input device.

I tried maniactools but it does not have all file types in BIAB.
What would happen if I just took the headphone plug and ran a line to the mic plug? (keeping the mic volume down)

Load the MIDi file into BIAB using the Import MIDI file command.
Use the VSC DXi MIDI synth that ships with BIAB and select "Render" to audio.
Select Compressed Audio Format and let it Render to Audio.
BIAB should create an audio file of the same name inside the same folder with a .wav, .mp3 or .wma suffix depending on what type you selected.

It's not in front of me right now, but I believe that (by default) it also appends the text "_render" to the file name.
So if you file was "Good_Blues.mid", you would end up with "Good_Blues_render.wav" (or "Good_Blues_render.mp3" or "Good_Blues_render.wma".
That's to prevent BIAB from playing the rendered WAV file at the same time as the BIAB/MIDI song (which happens if there is a WAV file with the same name as the BIAB file in the same folder).

Mac's way is the way to get a midi file from biab to an audio file. Maniactools is to convert a midi file that you have not (for whatever) reason run through BIAB. For example, I've downloaded some midi files, off the net, that I wanted to use without using biab. I used the ManiacTools pgm before I ever bought BIAB. I'm sure there are lots of other pgms out there that will do the same thing and more though, and some are just audio file conversion pgms.

VSC DXi MIDI synth that ships with BIAB and select "Render" to audio.
THis worked. I had the song playing and stoped. Slected the .WAV icon and pushed the Roland VSC button and it saved.
YEA!!

I agree with Shastastan. You can try MIDI Converter Studio not on Windows, but on Mac. You can download it here: MIDI to MP3 Converter.
