Just in case any of you guys will be in the area?!!.........I'm making my regular appearance with my "Joe Gordon's Ragtime Banjos!" at the Edinburgh International Jazz Festival, on Thursday 6th August at 12.30. Venue is the Royal Overseas League in Princes Street. The website/Programme this year, states that I am now "AN INSTITUTION"..........my wife Sally says "They mean you should be IN one!" Ah well!.......maybe I'll see some of you there?.......at the gig I mean....not the institution!  I think it's time for a lie down!  Joe G.

Jazz Festival with 'banjoes". In Scotland. Ye got pipers for backup right? Come to think of it I've not heard Satin Doll on the pipes yet.
Break a leg.
Then have a wee dram, a wee kip, and get back in the kitchen an on the spoons.

Hi John, NO! Not a piper to be seen. I don't think the serious Jazzers would take too kindly to that........(it's taken me 8 years to get them used to my line-up....2 banjos, string bass & trumpet). Fortunately the ones who came originally out of curiosity have kept coming back! No 'Satin Doll' John (I'd do it on guitar for you).....but 'Ain't Misbehavin'......'How come you do me'...'Darktown Strutters' etc....plus the Ragtime Banjo solos...... I'd better get rehearsing! (Not on the spoons!).......Thanks for the offer of a 'dram', but strangely enough.....I NEVER drink whisky.....other spirits yes! On early tours over in USA, I hate to remember how many 'after show functions' I sat through DRY....they only served whisky on a Scottish night! Your good wishes are appreciated.
