They would like that a lot at the Seniors homes I play at except for the lack of lyrics at which point people would clap and yell "sing, I forgot the words".

A tad slow for my taste, but if they have elevators in Hawaii it would go over well.

I was getting overdosed on the Don Ho and the strings came in.

Lovely song, well done on the steel.

in my family we knew that as A'cushla Mine and it was sung with some gaelic words, with fiddles, accordian, and at about 15 bpm faster.

John....It's a little extra work, but we pass out copies of the words at the senior places using a larger font size. We usually have10-12 songs that they can sing along to since they enjoy it so much.

Thanks for the comment, all are appeciated.

John,
45 to 50 years ago I did play it faster, but I guess I've
slowed down since then.

Glad St. Paddy's Day comes only once a year.

I've heard Danny Boy played hundreds of times, but this is the first time I've heard it on pedal steel. Nicely done Ron.

Just get ahold of Audacity. Cutting out the count in on an mp3 is easy. And you might be able to cheat a bit with the speed.

Audicity, don't leave home without it.

ron,
after opening the song in audacity, simply highlight the lead-in clicks then click 'delete.' you may want to zoom in first so you can see the lead-in clicks. finally, generate 1 or 2 seconds of silence at the beginning of the track so as to avoid an abrupt start of the song.

Buddy Emmons Did a beatiful rendition of this on steel, only I think he called it by it's original name, " Londonderry Aire". It's a tough instrument to play. I'm trying. Good work...send more!....Hank
