Assuming a Windows OS, just hook the two up to the desktop at the same time and copy the entire contents of one to the other. You can do that by choosing "Select All" in the explorer window for the original drive, then select Copy, both from the Edit menu, then open the explorer window for the new drive and choose Paste.

Best to do it when you have time to wait on the copy process, like at night when you aren't trying to use the computer to do other tasks. This method will help assure that no large files get interrupted during the copy by other tasks going on...
