Songs are saved where you tell them to be saved. If you are disciplined, you'll have a folder or folders you consistently save to; if you are not, then your songs could end up anywhere on the hard disk. You can save to the BIAB folder (nothing keeps you from doing that), but good practice generally says you never save your data to the program folder.

My two computers are networked together (using the gigabit network cards through a switch on a private network not visible to the wireless network for browsing, printing, etc). I then use a batch file with the robocopy command to synch my data. (I also do a similar batch file to do my backups). Robocopy comes with Windows Vista and above, but I believe you can download it for XP.
