I'm trying to create a 15 bar song- just 3 chords. It starts to generate RealTracks, gets quickly to 58% and then I get an "Out of memory" message. I'm running no other program on a Core Duo 1.8 Ghz computer with 4 GB RAM. So right now, I'm not even close to tackling my previous Audiobox problem (in fact for this song, all I plan to do is add vocals). When I enter the chords, I have to do this- Click on the space, and the white box appears. I type the chord name (E, B, or A), then I have to hit enter for the chord to appear- is something wrong with that too?
Maybe related to this problem is that my Realtracks Sets 1-6 disk is so screwed up that I can only get one or two realtracks from it- it throws up error messages for 95% of the disk- no scratches on it, and all the other Realtracks disks I have load with no problem at all. So, is not having a LOT of the 1-6 Realtracks loaded causing the "Out of memory" problem? If so I'll now have to send this bad disk back and wait for a replacement. The "analog recording" days were so much simpler and more reliable.

First try rebooting the computer to re-establish possible lost or tied up resources.

If that doesn't work, inside BIAB, the Opts. menu, try "Return to Factory Settings" which will rewrite a volatile and important file from scratch that may have become corrupted due to a BB crash, freeze, or other hiccup.

As for your RealTracks, you should go into the folder where they are stored and see if each of the files in question will play okay using Windows Media Player. Also look for the corresponding txt files in each folder. If you still have trouble, maybe time to contact PGMusic directly.

As for your chord entry 'problem' that hasn't been addressed yet, I think that is pretty much how it works in BIAB, although instead of hitting 'Enter' after typing a chord letter you can also just click the next bar where you want to place a chord and the previous one will show up then as well. It is somewhat different than a word processor in that regard.
If you are comfortable with computer troubleshooting and getting into the guts of the thing, you might try swapping in and out some of the memory modules, i.e. go down to 2gb and try it, and if it still has a problem, swap out the 2gb in the system with the other 2gb modules you removed, and mix and match them from there to see if you have a bad module. I doubt it is hardware related, but worth a try. Since your RT disk is not working it is possible that the song you are trying to create is asking for one of those RT's and the file is corrupt and killing the process.
Try some other RT's that you know are good and see if it still does the same thing. Finally, make a new song and redo the whole thing. Perhaps the original has been corrupted in some way.
Good luck.

What is the size of your hard drive - have you made a Disk clean and then a Defrag since installing the package

We had one case of Malware which "exploded" to use most of the available space causing the same symptoms

I had a faulty disc and it was replaced within a few days by a very helpful PG sales team
