Anybody on the forum using a Focusrite 2i4 as an interface to their DAW running Reaper or RealBand. Would sure be interested in any user comments, suggestions or ideas. Love it? Hate it? I am not familiar with the product for instance if I buy a used one what difficulties would I have getting drivers and or software. Thanks D.

I have two Scarlett's: an 18i8 and a 6i6 on two PCs. The mix software is a challenge to learn but is quite capable. The customer support by email has been excellent. Very reliable equipment.
BIAB 2026 Win Audiophile. Software: Fender Studio One 8, Swam horns, Acoustica-7, Notion 6, Song Master Pro, Win 11 Home. Hardware: Intel i9, 32 Gb; Presonus Quantom HD8 & Faderport 8, Royer 121, Adam Sub8 & Neumann 120 monitors.

I have the 6i6 and love it. I will probably upgrade at some point though as I want more inputs. Keep that in mind before you cut loose money.

I have the 2i4 and I like it a lot.
Focusrite support is absolutely wonderful... they made me a custom driver when I told them something I wanted added!! What hardware company does that??
I did have a problem with mine, but it turned out not to be the device or the driver. It was a check-box in RealBand's ASIO settings. I'm not at my music computer now, but it has to do with real time monitoring. If you check that box, output may be very distorted.
You don't need to check it, because the Focusrite is already capable of real time monitoring without having to use PC resources. Once I unchecked that box, it sounded great!
(I like it so much I bough a second one)

I have the 18i8. As me tone the mixer software can take some time to learn. Shop for used on your local craigslist because there are a ton of these on the used market because you can buy them at Best Buy. At least that's true with the 2i2, and I believe the 2i4.

Late to the party on this one but I made a discovery. When I was recording just one track, with the Focusrite set to stereo and me using input 2, I was not getting any data through the interface. Channel 1 was fine. After Sweetwater (They are the best. The BEST Jerry!) sent me a new unit, as I was testing I discovered that I need to change the prefs to left for channel 1 and right for channel 2. It's pretty embarrassing that a nerd at my level didn't think to check that, but I figured when the interface was set for stereo, either input should work. And it does if RealBand is set to record stereo tracks. When selecting MONO AUDIO as the track type, then the Focusrite makes a discrete split and you have to use input 1 for left and input 2 for right.
Feel free to flog. I should never have missed that troubleshooting step. A guy who was at a server level help desk for years.... DUH!!!
