...dripping with unnecessary clutter above the chord sheet. The chord sheet is the only part I recoginze. How is that acceptable?

Ron, without commenting on all of what you have mentioned, I put forward an idea for streamlining the interface specifically to reduce clutter, in May this year. There is a thread on it here PGM seemed to warm to the concept, so it might be successful in one form or another in a future release. Trevor
