I've owned the BeatBuddy drum foot pedal for about a month now. I'm interested in establishing a syncing capability with BIAB (I think). It appears the two could support one another's goal of enhancing the creation of music. Anyone else own or have experience with the Beatbuddy and the joint potential use along with BIAB together? Eager to hear any and all thoughts, notions, etc.

Hey cchallum,
A couple years ago I bought the BeatBuddy and associated footswitch and when I jam with others it really comes in handy. Even if we have a live drummer having this "2nd drummer" really makes a difference in the groove.
As for compatibility with BiaB, it absolutely is. You can produce an MP3 file of a BeatBuddy drum pattern and if it's at the same BPM as your BiaB song then they will be in sync. I may not have all the details correct here but this is what I remember.
1. There are 1/4" L and R outputs on the left side of the unit.
2. I connected one of them to the input of my bass amp
3. I connect the XLR output on my amp to an input on my Tascam 208i digital interface
4. The interface is connected to my Windows PC via USB cable
5. Open your DAW (at the time I used Audacity but now Studio One)
6. Hit Record and start the BeatBuddy pattern
7. When finished export your recording to MP3 or WAV
8. In BiaB, export your song using SaveSpecial to MP3 or WAV
9. Import both MP3 (or WAV) fies into your DAW and mix as required.
Basically what I'm doing here is "fooling" my setup into thinking its recording my bass but instead it's capturing the BeatBuddy. Worked like a charm.
There could be a more direct way of doing this, for example there is "Midi Sync" connector on the BeatBuddy but I'm not yet familiar with MIDI[yet].
Hope this helps.
