I took various advice from the following:

I changed the style and reduced the instruments.

I recorded the vocal without reverb.

I reduced the tempo and took my vox down a whole tone.

I can't promise a better vocal - just different

I changed the lyrics.

I reduced the lyrics and the song length - 2 verses - chorus - inst. - 1/2 verse to finish
