Yesterday I installed BIAB, RB, and all RealDrums and RealTracks from the UltraPak Plus USB drive to hard drives on my PC. I changed preferences to tell BIAB which folders contains the RD and RT. And when I loaded songs and clicked on the "Style" button to bring up the style browser, all RealTracks styles were available. A huge number of them.
Tonight I started BIAB up, loaded a song, clicked on the style button, but now most RT's are no longer listed. On the right-hand side of the style browser it says "Styles with RealTracks ALL (27)". Under that it shows "Styles with RealTracks JAZZ (2), then Blues with 2, Rock with 16 and Country with 14. It is only seeing a very limited number of RT's.
I doubled checked that preferences is still is pointing to the correct location of the RealTracks. And the checkmark is still there to use a custom folder. I used Windows Explorer to verify that all the RealTracks folders and files are still there --- they are: 284 folders, 38,513 files. I clicked on the "Rebuild" button in the style browser thinking maybe it needed to rebuild a database, but the result is still the same limited number of RealTracks styles.
Any ideas on what could have changed overnight to cause BIAB to think there are only a limited number of RealStyles?
Update: the same thing has happened with RT soloists. Only 4 are shown in the generate soloist dialog - 2 saxes, 1 strumming guitar and 1 pedal steel guitar. I am almost sure that yesterday there were a lot more choices.
When I checked "What Add-ons do I have", for the RT's it says it found Set 1 and the folder it says it found it in is the folder that contains all the RTs. But it lists all the other RT sets (2-66) that are in that same folder in the "not found" section for RealTracks. So it is finding Set 1 in the correct folder - the one I listed in preferences as the location of the RT's, but is not finding any of the other sets that are in that same folder.

I found a lot of them in the "Real Tracks - Demos" folder. I'm still deciding what to do about that.

Hello dalemccl,
It sounds like you are filtering styles - at the bottom of the StylePicker window, make sure that you are 'showing all' styles. If that's not the case, then you must be running the program from a different bb folder - the StylePicker shows the .sty files available in your bb folder.

Andrew, thanks for the reply. "Show all" is selected. I updated my original post a couple minutes ago to say that "What Add-ons do I Have" shows that it finds only Set 1 of RealTracks. All the other RT sets are in the not found section. Oddly, the folder in which it says it found set 1 is the same folder that contains all the other RT's. So I don't think it is a filtering problem since "What Add-ons Do I Have" doesn't find RT sets 2-66 either.
All but 4 RT soloists are missing in the Generate and Play Solos" dialog, so RT Soloists are having the same problem

I think I found the problem. I had initially installed BIAB from the downloaded installation file. Then I decided to wait until the USB drive arrived to install the RealTracks. When it arrived, I found that there was one installation program on the USB drive that installs everything - BIAB, RD's, RT's, etc. So I ran that installer and installed the main BIAB program to a different folder than I had installed the downloaded version to. And installed the RT's, RD's to a different hard drive than the main program.
Turns out that I have been starting the program using the desktop icon created the original installation from the downloaded installer, not the new one created by the installation from the USB drive. It was that original instance of BIAB that didn't see the RT's. Upon discovering this, I made a new BIAB icon for the BBW.exe in the folder created during the installation from the USB drive. Running it from that folder, all is OK. It finds the RT's.
Still .... even though I was running BIAB from the original location by mistake, the preferences for that instance of the program pointed to the right folder for the RT's and I did a "Rebuild" in the Style Browser, so I don't understand why it couldn't find them. It found the RealDrums, which were in a subfolder on the same level as the RT folder, but couldn't find the RT's.
F:\BIAB Real Instruments ...Drums ...RealTracks
(I used this folder naming structure after seeing a forum post by another user who said this is how he does it. Seemed like a good arrangement to me so I used it.)
Since BIAB runs from a folder, not dependent on the Windows registry, it would seem like I could have multiple instances of the program and they should all find the RT's as long as I point to the right folder in preferences for each instance.

Hi Dale. Perhaps your hard drive is not saving any files. The usual cause of this is that you have UAC enabled. (it you are running Vista, make sure that you have disabled UAC (User Account Control), This is done from the Control Panel.
I'd also recommend pressing REBUILD in the stylepicker.
Have Fun! Peter Gannon PG Music Inc.
