I'm in the process of deciding exactly how I want to handle this too.

Are you looking to use these charts on a gig or is this just for extra storage? If you're not looking to take a tablet to a gig you can use android emulators to run pretty much any android app you want on a PC.

<edit> Looking at your post again you said you want to use this on a gig. That means there's tons of android apps for this. Here's just a few:

IRealPro https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.massimobiolcati.irealb&hl=en
IGigBook https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.igigbook.app.igigbook&hl=en
Office Lens: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.microsoft.office.officelens&hl=en

This one from MS has great reviews from players wanting to scan sheet music or music books into PDF so they can put them into their setlists on stage. Note the example on the page where the image on the right is skewed and low contrast and see the finished scan on the left. The app squares it up and cleans it up. Perfect for taking pics of music with your phone's camera.

There are other apps I've read about but these three always seem to float to the top.

I'm also interested in the app called StaffPad which is a very cool music notation software that only runs on a Win 10 touch screen system using their stylus. With that in mind I'm thinking I'll get a used Surface Pro 3. They're in the $700 range on Amazon. I'd love to get a Pro 4 but I'm not spending $1,500 right now. With the emulator I can run IReal Pro and other setlist and PDF organizer apps.

I'm also thinking that with the Surface Dock I can use that to replace my desktop system. There are lots of articles and YT vids about using the Pro 3 for music production. It has plenty of power if you get 8 gigs of RAM to run Biab and DAW's including large VST sound libraries.

Everybody's needs and budgets are different. For me I would rather have one new thing cover all the bases. Upgrading my desktop to an SSD, adding more ram with Win10 then buying an android tablet for all of my gigging charts costs the same as getting a Pro 3. And I still can't use StaffPad because that's strictly a Win10 touch app which brings me back to getting a Pro 3 and be done with it.
