***You should be able to use the MME to record without lag. There is a Wizard in the Audio Settings Window, "Get from Soundcard" that only works with the MME drivers, you might try hitting that button.

Be sure to READ all about it, the installation and usage directions, there is a small learning curve to using ASIO drivers of any kind and you will need to know the differences in how the buffers are set from the ASIO control panel with the host program shut down first, etc.
