As far as intro's and such things.... sometimes the RT will generate a pickup of a note or two.... but you can always use audio editing tools to do whatever you need.

Most of us here use some other DAW... (aka: digital audio workstation or in layman's terms, recording software) with which to do our editing. In a DAW, it's really easy to bring things in and out as you choose. Listen to my music and that of the others here to see what can be done with BB/RB and the real tracks when edited and mixed in a DAW. I bring things in and out as fills between vocal phrases and then of course in the intro, solos, and the endings.
