Greetings forum, Has anyone else seen this new Samson R16 Recorder. http://www.samsontech.com/products/productpage.cfm?prodID=2009I am wanting to know if it will interface with RB so that I can control the play, record, rewind functions. I couldnt get those functions to work using midi. Any thoughts. Thanks.

RealBand (and therefore its older brother PT) don't yet support standard MIDI transport commands. This is something that's been on the Wishlists for some time.

The only transport commands that I know the program to be compatible with are the ones sent by the Frontier Tranzport, sold by pgmusic here on this website.

I have an Zoom HD8 and you can set Realband to wait for MIDI Sync and push play on the Zoom and it will play together.. Just make sure that the tempos on both match so you won't be thrown off by any visual weirdness.

Well, "Pause Play until MIDI Received" is not exactly the same thing as having full featured Transport Control (Play, Stop, Rewind, Fast Forward at a minimum. Scrub would be good to have there, too.)

Yeah, it will work for now though. It will rewind when you tell it to after it stops..

It works either way. If the R16 has the same settings. You can just use it in the standard mode. No MTC. your PC should see it as a MIDI device so you can use the R16 to start RB while you record your vocals.

OK, I just received my Zoom R16. I have 45 days to get it to work with RB or it's going back.
I talked to the Zoom rep. and he told me that the unit uses the Mackie control scheme. He said I need to find the settings in RB and set them to Mackie scheme of mapping or something.
Is there any such settings in RB? Thank you.
