Hi,
Still diving into Realband.

Is there any way, when I use the multiriff function to tell the program NOT to make a midi copy of the riff I've created?

I think you need to uncheck the box Pipeline pointed out above.

Mine is unchecked (never WAS checked) and I still get those tracks I then have to delete.

Hi guys,

Like Eddie1261 I've never had this item ticked. Ticking or unticking makes no difference. I still get the midi copy created.

I'm only just trying to dive into Realband and, for all that it has some great features, certain aspects of it are simply infuriating.

just check the other Generate menus: top menu - right click menu - and Generate button menu to make sure all menus are working the same.

I'm sorry, but I don't understand this at all. Most of the buttons in the Generate menu don't respond to a right click?

Perhaps I'm being dumb....

It is possible to get to what appears to be the same function by
Clicking in the Top most menu
Clicking the Generate button
or
Right-Clicking a track and selecting Generate Realtrack (or Realdrum)

Some may not behave exactly like the others. We all have our habits of how we do things.
I never use the Generate button in RB; I right-click the track I want to generate .. and I do not get those MIDI tracks .. so maybe it depends which route you take (?)

I think that is what Pipeline was suggesting.

Harv do you use Multi Riff? That's when it happens. And only then. I made sure that the menu item was not checked (it never was, but I selected and deselected) and it still creates those MIDI event tracks that I then have to delete.

Whether the other generate functions create MIDI tracks is of no consequence. We just want this one to not do so.

I find that the support has slipped quite a bit. Whether PG grew too fast and the mail volume has increased to where the same amount of people can't keep up or whatever, the last thing I had to contact support about was responded to by a cut and pasted script that was straight from the help files. Well, I have been reading for most of my 65 years. I can do that myself. And as a bonus, it barely addressed what the actual issue was, and offered a band aid rather than a fix. Candidly, had I offered that type of response to a customer in my days at help desks, I would have been reprimanded and possibly sent to retraining. "Reset to original" simply can't be the answer to everything. If I had to keep "resetting" Windows, how would that fly? Software has to be cookie cutter, where the 1st copy works the same as the 100th and the 5000th. There is no such thing as Real Band just for Eddie in Ohio. (Though if there was, it would have user assigned hotkeys. Like ctl+alt+G for Gain Change or ctl+alt+D for delete track with no context menus. I don't need to be told that my tracks will all move up one EVERY TIME I delete one track in the middle of the chart.)

Yes Eddie I have used Multiriff many times.

Do you Delete or Remove Track?
I only get the 'Move tracks up' message when I remove a track, not when I delete one.

Edit:
Wow, I just enabled it and disabled it and now I can't get it to stop .. even when using RTs that have no Charts!

I'll be letting PGMusic know.
