furry posts links to YouTube published videos that contain his cover songs.

YouTube has arrangements made for licensing the venue.

If there is a copyright infringement, anyone contesting would take it to YouTube and YouTube/Google deals with it.

Lawyers are the #1 impediment to all progress.

Son of a Preacher Man - that was a great song. Dusty Sprinfield did it originally?

Well her's is the version most of us are familiar with. But Dusty said in an interview I caught that she prefered Aretha's phrasing to her own version.

4 and 9 are the rules that the original poster (our esteemed webmaster) chose to present in bold. With his HTML skills, I'm sure that was no accident.

I don't care whose version it is. Just get him away from me - the preacher, I mean. Can't stand it. Bloody rude, in fact, IMO. I mean, its just not cricket! Coming around here and forceing religion down one's throat? This is a MUSIC forum and I love it for that.

Carry on, chaps!

(NOI. Just injecting a litle British Upper Class humour...)

Seriously, I have no real problem with preachers. So long as they have no problem with me antagonising them...

As Mike put up on another thread Monty Python - Tigers

You know, we've seen it all - the rise and fall of probably the greatest Empire that ever existed. I could go on but there are many ex-colonial nationals who might object. Who am I to preach?

Now, we are exiles.

Its all to do with the stiff upper lip, you know

Carry on...

No, it doesn't. At least, not as far as I'm concerned.

Carry on, Alan

My advice is that it is often far better on everyone concerned to beg forgiveness than to ask permission.

Kinda like going supersonic used to be...

Or just be British...

Quote:

Excuse me for interrupting you, kind Sirs (well, as it is a forum it can hardly be singular, eh?), but would it be possible to ask you for your kind permission to ask you to give my humble offering a listening to? I really don't mean to interfere and neither do I want to disturb you.

[pause for effect]

That is to say, I certainly would not want to refrain you from drinking your tea...

[pause for effect]

Of course, should you deighn to offer a mere minstrel such as I a constructive comment or criticism, it shall be duly noted and acted upon, forthwith

[pause for effect]

Oh! Please pardon me as I forgot to add, should you decide that I should be paying royaties to offer up my subjugation, I shall of course attend to that at the very first possible opportunity.

[After yet another brief but respectful pause]

May I now perform this humble little ditty for you, kind Sirs?

Oops! Terribly sorry, Ladies. Of course, I include you in this humble request...

May I proceed?

B*llocks! Play it!

I was always impressed by books about the Air Battle of Britain. Those pilots were some kind of tough! I think Churchill was right about that being the finest hour.

Hmmm. Battle of Britain. My uncle was here this summer. Went to England at the start of the war with the RCAF as a tailgunner. Did his missions and then joined the RAF as a flying officer for the duration. 88 now, but still reads a book a day. Quit golf last year, after he retired he played every day, sometimes twice until recently. Quite a guy. Was very fond of his 'batman'. My grandfather (his father) spent 3 years in the trenches in France, wounded 3 times and came down with the mumps. Spent an extra year waiting to get home, too many Canadians and not enough boats to take them back. He used to let us feel the pieces of shrapnel they left in his skull and neck.

But we were part of the British Empire, and have tea at 4. If you can't visit England go to Victoria for tea and meet Pgmusic. Veddy British.

my dad used to say him n his mates in uk in ww2 used to get annoyed
cos the rcaf blokes used to get the dates with the british girls
cos the rcaf blokes could afford to buy them expensive stockings..lol.
whereas the raf blokes were paid less.
fyi my dear dad may he rip is buried with a lot of air force types
near the battle of britain.
my dad apparently made good friends with lots of americans n cdns
inn that era and polish flyers too.
i was amazed to learn how little the battle of britain flyers were paid.
