Hi Folks I have a question here. I recently purchased a Dell Latitude 610 Laptop on ebay for a really good price. This laptop came with an Intel Pentium (R) M processor 2.00 Ghz (Single processor), 2 giggs of Ram, but 40 giggs of Hard drive space. I want to install Cubase SX3 on it very soon. My question is this. I am seeing a 250 Gig EasyBundle Internal Hard Drive upgrade kit for this very same Dell Latitude Laptop online at http://www.cmsproducts.com/detail.aspx?ID=1055 going for $180.00 Would y'all advise me to go ahead and purchase this Easy Bundle kit and max out my internal hard drive space or should I purchase a 500 external hard drive from Best Buy at maybe a little over $100.00? I want to do some home recording using Cubase Sx3 installed on this laptop and a few plugins also. I use a Lexicon Omega USB-AUDIO/ MIDI interface. What would be the better way to go here in terms of hard drive space for my laptop and generally speaking, what would be advisable to do in this scenario? Could I run Cubase sx3 and other software from an external hard drive? Reply me back soon y'all with some feedback. Thanks much

I'd go with the internal first.
Today's OSs and programs need more than 40gb of space anyway, that goes double for music making softwares. Avoid troubles now.
You could always pick up a USB drive later if you need more room at the time.
But the internal drive will be the best solution for fast access and no headaches.

What *I* would do, instead of spending the $180 on an unknown drive, is to buy the transfer kit, which is $50. It includes the case, cable, transfer software, and get that from CMS. Then, buy this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136159A 250GB Western Digital PATA drive, which should work very nicely for you. Cost you a little less in the long run. Gary
I'm blessed watching God do what He does best. I've had a few rough years, and I'm still not back to where I want to be, but I'm on the way and things are looking far better now than what they were!

I wouldn't get anything but the WD drive from New Egg. Reinstall Windows from scratch. That's what I did. If you don't have the Windows CD, like I didn't, Dell will send you a new one for $19.95 and it doesn't have any crap on it. You DO NOT need to be the original owner.
