it's different ways of thinking about the half dim chord. Some people play a C major scale for a Bø. Some people play an A harmonic minor scale for Bø. The Tom Harrell Bø#2 chord would have a C# in the scale and the scale would be a D jazz melodic minor, or D, E, F, G, A, B, C#, D. That's where the C# comes from. The sharp 9 (in Bø) would be an D natural, but the note I want is C#, or the sharp 2...
