"Texas" overwinds.

Very good chance tht the pups already in that thing are overwound by the custom shop these days, anyway, those originated because the Fender assy wasn't counting turns too good back in the day and somewhere around the '59 mark or so, many went out the door with a lot more wire wrapped around the pole pieces than originally specified. That's what Stevie Ray discovered with his famous "number one" '59. Scatter-wrapped, overwound around a good piece of Alnico.

The overwinds exhibit a heckuva lot more quack when set to the in-between positions, favored a lot by those who spank the plank in R&B, Blooz and stuff...
