I usually create my leadsheet using Noteworthy Composer (including notes and lyrics), then import it into BIAB. That gives me both the melody line along with the lyrics, which display in the Big Lyrics window.

In Noteworthy, you have to make sure the lyrics fall on the correct beat, but basically it's entered as text (much like you would in NotePad), rather than note-by-note. Adjustments are pretty easy. It also makes it fairly easy to cut and paste into a lyrics document.

That's what has worked for me for many years, but is just one solution.
