I generate MIDI file from a BB(Version 2008) song in BB: no lead-in bars, including real drum.
In PT 12.0, I open this MIDI file and import the accompanying real drum wave file into a blank track. There are two blank bars in the beginning of this real drum track and extend out two extra bars at the end of the song.
How can I get rid of these two blank bars? No matter what settings I make inside the BB before rendering the song into a MIDI there are always two blank bars added to the beginning of the track...
Is there a way avoid this ? Is the new version of BB/PT fixing this problem? Thanks a million.

Use Edit > Insert Blank Bars (2) at the start of the sequence for the Midi File and then the RealDrum track should match up. I would normally allow for the lead in bars in Biab to be included - these can always be removed at a later stage.

If you look at the RH side of RealBand near the top, underneath the Prefs toolbar button, you should see a block labeled, "Bar Offset" there. Default is -2: Try setting that to 0 instead before doing the track import.
The above was added to RealBand.
If you have only PT, I don't think that feature is available there.
Best way to handle that is to either leave the countin intact and wait until after mixdown to delete it, as LynB says to do, or put up with "manually" removing the two bars using Highlight, Cut, Close Gap on each track after Import.

Edit-cut-Clsoe gap surely worked. However, now the MIDI tracks and the imported wave file do not synchronize. Is this fixable? Does this prolem exist in the new version real band? Thanks for help.

its important to enter the correct values when closing gap in the cut dialog.
it will take a bit of experimenting with the values of from and thru..
based on the start position of the midi traks.

Another option is to Regenerate the RealDrum Track in PTW and see if that matches better. The Drums Window gives an option to create two blank bars at the start of the generation.

1. Hit snap
2.Highlite the tracks one at a time
3. While holding down the CTRL key drag the midi track to line up with the RD track.
4. Do this for each track
5. Highlight the first two measures of all tracks
6. click on cut
7. check off all boxes
8. check close gap
9. click OK
