Why not simply choose to do a direct Render if using a DXi synth like the VSC?

If using a true VST synth, from the bottom of the DXi menu, it should also Render as well, but you might get prompted to switch to the VSC DXi for the Rendering.

The reason for your sync problem is the method you are using to record here, I think.
