I can't believe I'm (attempting to) answer an IT question. But... I went thru the SAME THING! Newegg...long story, but bottom line it came with a 512 GB SSD. There was supposed to be a 2nd drive (1 TB HDD), so now my laptop has 2; the SSD and a HDD. I Googled and I added a 2 TB HDD. I couldn't believe how easy it was. You pull the CD/DVD player out and replace it with either an SSD or HDD. Of course, then you have no CD/DVD player, but I didn't need one. (I still have it and if I needed it I could swap them out in 2 mins.) You need a "caddy," which is a little, aluminum tray that the disk drive fits into, and it needs to be specifically for your laptop. It will all fit snuggly and took about 10 mins to install. I couldn't believe it. You can buy the caddy for your 5000 here, $25, they also sell HDD/SSD, or get one elsewhere. https://www.newmodeus.com/shop/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=585There are videos on Youtube showing you how to install it.
