As you say, if 2016 works ok, then 2017 should work fine too. There is a new font in BIAB 2017 but I can't imagine that that is the problem. From what you've typed above, everything should be going fine for you.

What is your antivirus software? Is it Norton perchance? Over the years, there have been a few instances on these forums where Norton has been a bit antagonistic towards BIAB.

Another thing to try...

Firstly, under OPTIONS on the top menu, select the option that allows you to save you preferences and save your current setup. Doing this before playing with set up possibilities is always a good safety net.

Now...

1. Close BIAB.

2.In the \bb folder, find the files "intrface.bbw" (notice there's no 'e' in the filename) and "mysetup.dk" and rename them to "intrface.bbw.old" and "mysetup.dk.old". This will force BIAB to create brand new versions of these setup files. By renaming them as above, it makes it easy to locate them and return them to the original files if needed.

3. Start BIAB.

Once renaming the files as above, you will be prompted to again setup you MIDI and audio drivers.
