OK first I am a gtr player/singer and do mostly acoustic w/ some electric. Considering I've only had the program a week I'm happy with results and got about 6 songs done now. I'm trying to do Grey street by Dave mathews and am having a tough time trying to find a style to work and the timing is tough for me (not toplay but to get baib to play it), I dont need it to be exact just enough where I can play & sing with it. Also I am a self taught musician, so I dont have vast knowledge of music theory, but I play pretty good heres the original version https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7O9Sf4P38oEversion I do (the same just slower) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lUt17CH-rdYany help or suggestions is greatly appreciated

I'd suggest you load up the rock styles, make everything midi for the previews, and then when the styles list is on the screen keep pressing preview. It's quick, and when you get the style you like, then you can switch back to RealDrums, add other Real instruments etc. I'm not familiar with music from the era you are talking about, I do know some of his tunes but that one is not on my 'radar' And I don't use the Rock stuff often.

Interesting sounding song. I can't quite figure out the timing of it, its definitely not straightforward. Sounds like parts of it are in 5/4 or 5/8. maybe even 7/4 or 7/8. You need to get the timing right before you can match a style to it. The youtube video of you playing it is excellent too.
Good luck, Andrew

The whole thing is in 4/4 time, one base Tempo, but part A is heavily syncopated. And it is syncopated in a way that BIAB can't do "straight up" as it were, for there is a place in that riff where one would have to be able to apply Push chords to two consectutive 8th note beats, something that BIAB cannot do as of yet -- you might inquire of Bob "Notes" Norton as to the availability of one of his Expanded Styles that may work (misbarring using a homebrewed "Expanded" Style that spreads the time of one bar out over two bars at double tempo to create the illusion.
Andrew, I suggest you search for a MIDI of this song, perhaps you can find one and load that into BIAB for playback. You may also be able to edit out the track that you want to play along with it. Leave the BIAB style disabled and play with the MIDI file for your backing track.
BTW -- Your solo performance of the piece stands on its own. You might just consider continuing doing just that piece the same way in live performance. Very nice.
--Mac

Why do you want to add BIAB stuff to this track? I agree with Mac - your solo playing and singing stands on its own. I like it

I'm happy with how it is now but I wanted to try to add some percussion, bass & horns to help it groove more and so I might be able to add a solo part.

If you know the chords and you have RealTracks, you don't actually need to worry about the MIDI Style. Just add some RDs and RTs

Excellent singing and playing! Dave does some funky things -- here's a link to the easy chord version -- this might help you get started on entering chords, set the tempo and add bass, RD and real sax: http://www.e-chords.com/tab.asp?idMusica=89786&tipo=TKevin

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option
Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!
Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!
For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.
Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.
Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!
Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.
Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.
