I understand that we can do that right now if we like with the current RealInst files.

When you install, the installer creates both .wma and .wav files in your RealInst folders.

By default, BIAB2008 will use the .wav files -- if they are there.

If it finds only .wma files of the same name as the corresponding .wav files instead, it will then convert and load the .wma files on the fly. This can take a little bit longer to load each song, of course.

You can try this easily enough, open up one of the RealInst folders and move all of the .wav files out of it temporarily, then start up BIAB and try loading some songs that use those files.
